AFP’s 2016 accounts approved at board meeting on 20 April 2017

In a context of recessionary domestic and international market environments that continued to worsen in 2016, Agence France-Presse generated a positive operating margin of 12.4 M€, 1.1 M€ below the 2015 figure on a like-for-like basis.

The BBC has selected AFPTV as a key supplier of english-language video news, significantly expanding its relationship with the Paris-headquartered international news agency AFP

Under a multi-year agreement starting April 1, 2017, the British broadcaster will receive edited and live video from AFPTV for use on all its platforms: television channels, websites and mobile applications as well as radio for audio production.

AFP joins First Draft coalition and Facebook in fight against misinformation

With the French presidential election approaching, AFP is taking part in two initiatives aimed at fighting fake news. The Agency is joining initiatives by the First Draft network, which is launching the CrossCheck project, and Facebook, with its fact checking tool that is incorporated into the social network.
